Privacy Policy
QuickCalculator is built on a simple principle: your financial data belongs to you. Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type into our calculators is ever sent to a server. This policy explains exactly what we do and do not collect.

1. Overview
QuickCalculator (quickcalculator.io) provides free financial calculators for inflation, stock returns, loans, mortgages, compound interest, salary, federal income tax, and debt payoff. The site is operated by the QuickCalculator Team, based in the United States.
Our core privacy commitment: all calculator logic runs client-side in your browser using JavaScript. When you enter a dollar amount, an income, a loan term, or a tax filing status into any of our calculators, that input is processed entirely on your device. It is never transmitted to our servers, logged in a database, or shared with any third party — because it never leaves your browser.
This policy covers what limited information we do collect through standard web analytics and advertising tools, and what rights you have over that information.
2. What We Collect — and What We Don't
We do NOT collect:
- Any financial figures you enter into our calculators (dollar amounts, income, loan amounts, tax information, investment values, or any other numerical inputs)
- Your name, address, phone number, or any personally identifying information (unless you voluntarily email us)
- Account credentials — there are no accounts on QuickCalculator
- Payment information — QuickCalculator is entirely free
- Location data beyond the country level used by analytics
We DO use the following:
- Google Analytics — anonymized page view statistics such as which pages are visited, referral sources, and approximate geographic region (country/region level). No personally identifiable information is included. See Section 4 for details and opt-out options.
- Google AdSense — advertising cookies for serving and measuring ads. See Section 3 for details and opt-out options.
- Browser localStorage — one item only: your theme preference (light or dark mode). Stored locally on your device; never transmitted anywhere. See Section 5 for details.
- Standard server logs — our hosting provider may retain standard web server access logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp, browser user agent) for security and uptime purposes. These logs are not used for marketing, are not linked to any personal profile, and are retained only as long as technically necessary.
3. Google AdSense
QuickCalculator uses (or plans to use) Google AdSense to display advertisements. Advertising revenue helps cover the costs of hosting and maintaining this free service.
Google AdSense operates as follows:
- Google uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website and other websites across the internet.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users of our site based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
- These cookies may collect information about your browsing behavior for the purpose of delivering relevant advertisements.
Opting out of ad personalization: You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting adssettings.google.com. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info/choices or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page.
QuickCalculator does not control Google's data collection practices through AdSense. For complete information about how Google handles data in connection with AdSense, see Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not receive any personally identifiable information from Google through the AdSense relationship. We only receive aggregate reporting data such as total impressions and clicks.
4. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use QuickCalculator — for example, which calculators are most popular, how visitors find the site, and which pages generate the most engagement. This helps us prioritize improvements.
How Google Analytics works on this site:
- Google Analytics collects aggregated, anonymized data about page views, session duration, referral sources, and approximate geographic region.
- We do not use any Google Analytics features that collect personally identifiable information, such as User-ID tracking or advertising reporting features tied to individual profiles.
- No financial inputs from our calculators are ever sent to Google Analytics. Calculator inputs are processed entirely in your browser and are never part of any analytics event.
- IP addresses are anonymized before being processed by Google Analytics. We have IP anonymization enabled on this property.
Opting out: You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also use browser-level controls or privacy extensions that block analytics tracking.
For more information on how Google handles Analytics data, see Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Analytics data safeguarding overview.
5. localStorage and Cookies
localStorage (theme preference): QuickCalculator uses your browser's localStorage — not cookies — to save a single value: your display preference (light mode or dark mode). This setting is stored on your device only, is never transmitted to any server, and contains no personal information. If you clear your browser's localStorage or site data, this preference will reset to the default.
Session behavior: QuickCalculator does not set any first-party cookies of its own. We do not use cookies for authentication (there are no accounts), for tracking calculator inputs, or for any purpose other than what is described above.
Third-party cookies: Google AdSense and Google Analytics may set their own cookies on your device as described in Sections 3 and 4 above. These are subject to Google's privacy controls and opt-out mechanisms. You can manage or delete these cookies through your browser's settings at any time.
6. Your Rights — GDPR and CCPA
European Union (GDPR): If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because QuickCalculator does not collect personal data directly from calculator usage, most GDPR subject access requests will not apply to our first-party data. For data collected by Google through AdSense or Analytics, please use Google's privacy tools at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy. To exercise any remaining rights, contact us at hello@quickcalculator.io.
California (CCPA): If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you rights regarding personal information, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. QuickCalculator does not sell personal information. The only personal information we may hold is your email address if you have contacted us, and server log data retained by our hosting provider. To make a CCPA request, contact us at hello@quickcalculator.io.
7. Email Contact
If you contact us by email at hello@quickcalculator.io or through our Contact page, we will receive your name and email address as part of your message. We use this information only to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list, share your contact information with any third party, or retain it longer than necessary to resolve your inquiry.
We do not use any CRM software or marketing automation tools. Emails are read and responded to by members of the QuickCalculator Team directly.
8. Third-Party Links
Our calculator pages and blog articles may contain links to external websites, including:
- IRS.gov — for official tax bracket and revenue procedure citations
- BLS.gov — for Consumer Price Index data and inflation statistics
- Finance.Yahoo.com — referenced for verifying stock price data
QuickCalculator has no control over these external websites and is not responsible for their privacy practices. When you follow a link to an external site, that site's own privacy policy applies. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any external site you visit.
9. Children's Privacy
QuickCalculator is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our contact form, please contact us at hello@quickcalculator.io and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if our data practices change — for example, if we add new features that involve different data handling, or if legal requirements change. When we update this policy, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of QuickCalculator after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
